Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')
As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.
You asked:
“Could you please confirm me how many reports have been recieved of threats of physical violence and/or damage to property made via social media?
I am only interested in reports received between 20th August and 3rd September from from persons or businesses based in SR1 postcode?”
In Response:
Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted within of Northumbria Police.
Due to the way reports are made to the police we are unable to identify where reports are made from – ie which post code the person reporting is calling from. Unfortunately we are therefore unable to offer a response to this request.
