Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

(i) How many civilian employees (including PCSOs) are employed by your force?

(ii) How many of these people are retired police officers?

NOTE: If you are able to give me retired officers from any force that are currently working for your force, then this is what I would like. Otherwise please provide the number of civilian officers who are retired members of your force.

(iii) What are the three largest annual salaries of the people identified in Question ii ? Please note that I am content to have the salaries provided in bands of £10,000.

(iv) What are the three largest annual pensions paid to the people identified in Question ii ? Please note that I am content to have the pensions provided in bands of £10,000.

In Response:

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with both the People Services and Finance Departments of Northumbria Police.  I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.

I am able to disclose the located information to you as follows.

i)  Data as at 12 March 2020 = 2042 (Headcount)

ii)  Data as at 12 March 2020 = 157 (Headcount)

NOTE: We can only provide the number of civilian officers who are retired members of our force.

iii)  The three largest annual salaries of the people identified in question ii by salary band are:
