Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

  1. How many officers received any kind of disciplined sanction in the 2018/19 year as a result of a complaint of (i) racism, or (ii) sexism and what was the result of that disciplinary action?
  2. In relation to the incidents in Q.1 please state any words or phrases that were used which were deemed to have been (i) racist or (ii) sexist.

In Response:

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Professional Standards Department of Northumbria Police.  I can confirm that the information you have requested is not held by Northumbria Police.

From searches conducted within records held by the Professional Standards Department I can advise that no officers that have received a disciplined sanction in 2018/19 as a result of a complaint of i) racism or ii) sexism.
