Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')
As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.
You asked:
For each police officer complained about by members of the public in the period 1 Jan 2011 to 31 Dec 2020, who received 10 or more complaints:
a) are they still employed by your force? (please just say 'yes' or 'no')
b) are they currently under investigation for any of the complaints they received (please say 'yes' or 'no')
In Response:
Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Professional Standards Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.
I am able to disclose the located information to you with the following noted.
A unique reference number has been assigned to each officer. This is not a reflection of their force number and shows the count of how many complaints each officer has received in the time period. It also states if they are still serving and if they currently have any LIVE investigations outstanding.
