Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

Since 3 March 2021 (until today), how many serving police officers have been charged or convicted for any of the following offences: rape, assault by penetration, sexual assault, child sexual abuse, extreme pornography, disclosing private sexual images without consent, indecent images of children. Please break this information down by type of offence and the gender of both the accused and victim.

2. How many officers charged with or convicted of any of those offences within this timeframe are still employed by the police force.

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Professional Standards Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.

I am able to disclose the located information to you as follows.

Professional Standards records have been checked from the 3 March 2020 until 7 April 2022.

1. There have been no officers charged or convicted for the offences of: rape, assault by penetration, sexual assault, child sexual abuse, extreme pornography, disclosing private sexual images without consent, indecent images of children during the period outlined above.
