Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

  1. Please provide the recorded number of sexual assaults that have taken place where the location is a school/educational facility and where the person suspected of the offence was a child (under the age of 18) for the the CALENDAR year 2019.
  2. Please break down point 1 by the child's age separately for the victims and perpetrators.

If you can provide any further breakdown about the offences - i.e. the type of assault or any other information - then please do include this.

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Corporate Development Department of Northumbria Police.  I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.

With regards to the above data, it should be noted that if either the victim or suspect age is missing, it has not been included in this count.  Also, one crime may have multiple suspects, and as such, the number of suspects may not equal the number of crimes.
