As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

1. Per calendar year, for 2019, 2020 and 2021, how many allegations of adult rape were there? If possible, please provide a breakdown by ethnicity
2. Of these, how many were recorded as a “no crime”? If possible, please provide a breakdown by ethnicity

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Corporate Development Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.
I am able to disclose the located information to you with the following noted.
- Due to the questions asked, your request has been handled differently to most others. Normally, when counting crimes we discount statistically continuous crimes and we discount no-crimes. In this case, you have specifically asked about the numbers of no-crimes. As such we have discounted stat-cont, and included no-crimes in the first question.
- We have provided no-crimes only for the second.
- We have included any crime wherein the word "rape" appears in the offence description, including allegations.
- We have not included any cases wherein the victim does not have a date of birth listed as we cannot accurately provide their age. We have not included any victims aged under 18.
