Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

  1. The number of reports of a member of the public carrying a bladed object on or near the hospital site
  2. The number of times someone sustained an injury from a person carrying a bladed object on or near the hospital site

I would like information for the past five years, starting from 2018 and working backwards.

In Response:

Searches were made on the following offences:

Having an article with a blade or point in a public place

Threaten with a blade or sharply pointed article in a public place

Selling to a person under age of 16 years a knife; knife blade, razor blade, axe and any other article which has a blade, that is sharply pointed and which is made or adapted for use for causing injury to the person and those that met the criteria of your request were extracted
