Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')
As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.
You asked:
I would like to request information on the total number of reported burglaries including technology devices from both commercial properties, and residential properties in your area between 30th June 2019 and 30th June 2020. In this instance "technology devices" should include smartphones, tablets, laptops, e-readers, desktop computers and smart home assistants.
The data should make clear the total value of goods stolen per reported burglary and a total for all instances in the time period, as well as a breakdown of device types stolen per incident as per the above.
In Response:
Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted within Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.
I am able to disclose the located information to you as attached with the caveats below noted.
Based on the search criteria provided, items associated with computing or audio/visual have been included within this return.
Please note that not all items stolen would have a value associated with them.
"Total value of goods stolen per reported burglary" has been taken to mean the total value of all goods within said burglary.
As such, please note that the total value stolen may include non-technological items and as such may not match the sum of the items given.
