Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

 

I would like to make a request for the following information under the Freedom of Information Act.

1) Between March 23 2020 and March 30 2020 how many reports of the following crimes/incidents did the force receive:

2) Between March 23 2019 and March 30 2019 how many reports of the following crimes/incidents did the force receive:

- Dwelling house burglaries

- Anti-social behaviour

- Domestic violence incidents

- Violence against the person

- Public order incidents

- Criminal damage

In Response:

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Corporate Development Department of Northumbria Police.  I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.

I am able to disclose the located information to you as follows with the caveat below noted.

This submission has requested information on both incidents and crimes for various criteria.  Not all of these would be logged as incidents (eg, Violence against the Person is a type of crime), and not all of these would be logged as crimes (eg ASB is a typing given to an incident.) DV can be logged as both.  We have therefore provided a response as best as we are able.

If you decide to write an article / use the enclosed data we would expect that you to take into consideration the factors highlighted above so as not to mislead members of the public or official bodies or misrepresent the relevance of the whole or any part of this disclosed material.
