Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')
As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.
- Please could you provide the details of any crime logs that include the word ‘strava’ over the last five years, ending on the date that work to fulfil the request begins. (from 1st August 2014 to the date of request 11th September 2018)
- Within this, could you please provide as much detail as is within the log, redacting details that would identify the victims.
- Could you also tell me if the alleged offence resulted in charge.
We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention.
Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Corporate Development Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.
Searches of the MOs of all crimes recorded between 01/08/2014 and 11/09/2018 were carried out for the word "strava." This brought back 1 return.
It should be noted that any keyword searches will only return exact matches within the Crime MO. This does not account for differences in terminology and/or spelling used. Searches on the crime investigation screens/additional information screens cannot be carried out and therefore if the terms are not used within the MO the crime will not be identified.
With the above in mind I am able to disclose the located information to you as follows.
Suspect is believed to have accessed details on strava to find location of victim attend location where victim was, bang on door for occupant to open. Victim is then confronted by suspect who was verbally abusive.
