Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')
As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.
You asked:
Please can I have the following information from 1st January 2016 to 15th November 2019 - I ask for the information to be broken down yearly (2016-2019) into the numbers of crimes and a brief description of the crime – if feasible:
- The number of crimes committed by people who have been released under investigation.
- Please stipulate whether multiple crimes have been committed by the same person. I do not require any identifying information about the perpetrator.
In Response:
We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention.
Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Corporate Development Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is not held by Northumbria Police as per your request. We are not able to extract a history of an offender’s disposal status, for example if an offender was released under investigation then charged, the individual will now show as charged. There is no history of the state that they were in – just the most recent disposal at the current time.
