Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

 

  1. Between 1st Jan 2017 and 31st December 2018 (or the nearest available period) - how many criminal offences were recorded in betting shops in your region? (Betting shop names, if required, are: William Hill, Coral, Paddy Power, Ladbrokes & Betfred)
  2. Between 1st Jan 2017 and 31st December 2018 (or the nearest available period) - how many times did the police recommend to local authorities revoking licenses from betting shops owing to criminal activity?
  3. Between 1st Jan 2017 and 31st December 2018 (or the nearest available period) - does the police force have estimates on the number of offences which went unreported in betting shops in your region?

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with each Area Command of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.
