Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

How many crimes have been reported in prisons in the last five years (2018,2017,2016,2015 and 2014), where the synthetic cannabinoid spice or black mamba is mentioned?

Please can you break this down by year and month, and also detail be given on the nature of the crime (eg there was a disturbance or robbery in which the drug was mentioned. Or the report was due to use of spice in prison)

After we sought clarity you advised that you were looking at how many such crimes have been reported to police that occurred in prisons.

We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention.

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Corporate Development Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.
