Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

  1. For each of the following periods, please state how many crimes were recorded for criminal damage of a residential property:  2017, 2018, 2019 (January to June)
  2. For same time periods, please state how many cases were investigated related to the “Theft Act 1968: Section 13 (for abstraction of electricity)”:
  3. For each of the following periods, please state how many of these investigations related to the “Theft Act 1968: Section 13 (for abstraction of electricity)” were suspected to be for the cultivation or manufacture of illegal drugs: 2017,2018,  2019 (January to June)

In Response:

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted within the Corporate Development Department of Northumbria Police.  I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.

I am able to disclose the located information to you as follows.

The data has been taken from the central database where the offence was classified as criminal damage - dwelling and where the offence was one of abstracting electricity.

To get the answer to question 3  searches on the MO for the keywords 'drug' and 'cannabis farm' were made.  Where either of these were present, the offence has been included in the results, in addition to this the remaining offences were reviewed to find those that were suspected to be for the cultivation or manufacture of illegal drugs.
