Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

 

For the periods 2017 and 2018:

  1. Please state how many dogs were reported as stolen in your area
  2. Over the same timeframes, please state how many of these cases were resolved (i.e. the pet was returned to its owner):
  3. If possible, please state the three most commonly stolen breeds of dog and the number of each taken                                         
  4. Over the same timeframe, how many individuals were arrested in your area for theft of a dog?

We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention.

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Corporate Development of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.
