Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')
As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.
You asked:
- How many crimes of domestic abuse were reported from Jan. 1, 2019 through April 30, 2020? Please provide the data broken down by week if possible. If weekly data is not available, please provide the data broken down by month.
- Please include how many of these reported domestic abuse crimes involved at least one victim under the age of 18 and if possible please include a gender-breakdown of the victims. If possible please also include the type of crime (for example assault, coercive control, sexual abuse etc.).

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Corporate Development Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.
I am able to disclose the located information to you as attached, with the below noted:
The number of offences does not match up with the count of 'gender', this is due to the fact that there can be more than one victim of a crime, hence the higher number of gender victims.
