Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

Please provide, from 1 May 2018 to 31 May 2020:

1. The number of domestic abuse reports, by month
2. The number of charges related to domestic abuse, by month
3. The number of prosecutions related to domestic abuse, by month

In Response:

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with both the Corporate Development and Criminal Justice Departments of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police

I am able to disclose the located information to you as follows.

The following should be noted when viewing the information provided.

There may be more than one charge emanating from an incident and the charge may not necessarily relate to the incident type, for example cannabis found during an incident of domestic abuse could lead to two charges, though the second charge would not relate to the domestic abuse, rather the possession of cannabis, all charges emanating from these incidents are included in this response.

To note charge and prosecution number are the same.
