Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

I'm writing to request data on the number of incidents of domestic abuse that were reported to your force during the period of the UEFA Euro 2020 (June 11-July 11).

As part of this request, I would like to be supplied with the number of reports received during the same period in 2012 and 2016, as well as the number of reports received each month since 2019

Could the information please be broken down into the following:

1. The total number of reports received during the periods:

1. (a) UEFA Euro Championships 2012: 8 June – 1 July

1. (b) UEFA Euro Championships 2016: 10 Jun – 10 July

1. (c) UEFA Euro Championships 2020: 11 Jun – 11 July

2. The number of reports received during the same period in 2012 and 2016.

3. The number of reports received each month from 2019 onwards.

You should note that point 2 is asking for the same information as that at point 1 – point 2 has therefore been disregarded in our response.

Also to note – we have supplied data as per your request, it should not be assumed that our response to your queries confirms any relationship of these instances specifically to the UEFA Euro Championships.
