Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

  1. How many domestic abuse incidents did your force respond to between 12 June, 2014, and 14 July, 2014, where the initial incident detail included the phrase "World Cup" ?

Please provide a breakdown giving the date of each incident and a summary of the circumstances. If this risks identifying any individuals please provide the week rather than the date of the incident.

We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention. 

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Corporate Development Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police. 

I am able to disclose the located information to you as follows. 

The data was obtained by downloading all incidents/crimes with a DV flag and then filtered on the MO and the first three lines of the incident description using the words 'world cup' and 'football'. 

  1. There were no domestic violence incidents where the phrase 'world cup' was in the incident description
  2. There were no domestic violence incidents where the phrsase 'football' was in the incident description
  3. There were no crimes with a domestic violence flag where the phrsase 'world cup' was in the MO.
  4. There was one incident where there was a domestic violence flag and 'football' was mentioned in the MO
