Domestic Violence Incidents - 1092/19

Date Responded 26 September 2019

Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

During the period 29/01/18 to 02/02/18:

  1. How many incidents with a domestic violence code did Northumbria Police attend in the E1, E2, E3, E4 and E5 area between the hours of 10 pm and 7 am?

2. How many of those incidents resulted in a Domestic Violence Protection Notice being obtained?

In Response:

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Corporate Development Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.

I am able to disclose the located information to you as follows.

All incidents with a DV Reference Number attached within the specified areas were reviewed to establish if an officer attended and when they attended.

Its should be noted that some incidents may have occurred between 10pm and 7am but an officer may have attended at an appointment outside of these hours.  These incidents would not be included in the count.

All those that were attended between the specified hours were read to determine if a DVPN had been applied for and recorded on the incident log.

The results of the above are as follows.
