Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

  1. How many Domestic Violence Protection Notices (DVPNs) were issued per year in: 2016; 2017; 2018; 2019; 2020 (to date);
  2. How many DVPNs were breached per year in: 2016; 2017; 2018; 2019; 2020 (to date);
  3. How many Domestic Violence Protection Orders (DVPOs) were granted per year in: 2016; 2017; 2018; 2019; 2020 (to date);
  4. How many DVPOs were breached per year in: 2016; 2017; 2018; 2019; 2020 (to date).

In Response:

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Corporate Development Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.

I am able to disclose the located information to you as follows with the below noted.

- One individual may breach a DVPN or DVPO multiple times

- DVPOs are all based on a DVPN

- "Cancelled" DVPNs have been included within this, as they should have been issued prior to cancellation

- This information is held in a monthly format; Its provided  up to and including 31/03/2020.
