Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

  1. What is the total number of firearms offences (excluding air weapons) recorded in your force area between 1st January 2019 and 31st January 2019?
  2. What is the total number of firearms offences (excluding air weapons) recorded in your force area between 1st February 2019 and 28th February 2019?
  3. What is the total number of firearms offences (excluding air weapons) recorded in your force area between 1st March 2019 and 31st March 2019?
  4. What is the total number of firearms offences (excluding air weapons) recorded in your force area between 1st April 2019 and 30th April 2019?
  5. What is the total number of firearms offences (excluding air weapons) recorded in your force area between 1st May 2019 and 31st May 2019?
  6. What is the total number of firearms offences (excluding air weapons) recorded in your force area between 1st June 2019 and 30th June 2019?

For each of the above questions please provide the following:

i, How many of these offences resulted in a fatal injury?

ii,How many of these offences resulted in a serious injury?

iii, What was the age of the victim in each incident at the time of the offence?

 I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.

I am able to disclose the located information to you as follows.

Data has been taken from the quarterly Home Office return provided by Northumbria Police.  Each offence has been read through as part of the quarterly return and questions answered based on what has been recorded on the log.  Please note that the data below has been presented in such a way as to avoid the application of exemptions.  To provide a further breakdown would engage relevant exemptions under the FOIA act.
