Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')
As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.
“I am writing to ask for information held by your Police force under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA).My request relates to all offences recorded by your force in respect of:
Home Office Offence Coding 116/11: Fishing without permission: ‘Taking or destroying fish’, Schedule 1, Part 2, Theft Act 1968.
I ask that you release information for all such offences recorded over the period 1st January 2017 – 31st December 2017 relating to:
1. Number of such offences recorded each year
2. Number of these offences investigated
3. Outcomes from the investigations of any offences to include
i. Proceeded against (to court)
ii. Warned/Cautioned/Restorative Justice or other community resolution
iii. Undetected/No further actioned
With reference to 3 (i) above can you provide details, if held of the any court outcomes including:
a. Guilty/not guilty
b. If guilty the sentence passed – absolute/conditional discharge, fine, community/suspended sentence, bound over on conviction or custodial etc.”
We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention.
Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Corporate Development Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is not held by Northumbria Police. Searches carried out have not brought back any instances of crimes with a HO code of 116/11 within the search period requested.
