Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

I am submitting a Freedom of Information request relating to disclosure of details on hate crimes recorded by Northumbria police force during the period April 2016 to March 2017, inclusive, as follows: 

1. For race hate crimes – I’m specifically focused on those race crimes effecting Pakistani, Bangladeshi, and Arab/Middle Eastern victims. Please provide the gender breakdown of those ethnic groups, rather than the gender breakdown for total race hate crimes.

2. For faith hate crimes - please provide the gender breakdown of the 45 crimes that have been recorded where the crime was directed against Islam.

3. Please also provide the gender breakdown of the 9 victims who had Muslim as their recorded religion.

We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention. 

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Corporate Development Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.
