Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

Please could you provide details of the following related to crime recording under home office code 86/2:

  1. Please could you provide details of the number of arrests related to the taking, making or distribution of an indecent (or pseudo sexual) image of a child (home office code 86/2) where suspect was under the age of 18 between 1st January 2019 and 31st December 2019.
  2. If you hold the information, please could you also provide details of the number of arrests related to the taking, making or distribution of an indecent (or pseudo sexual) image of a child (home office code 86/2) where suspect was under the age of 14 between 1st January 2019 and 31st December 2019.

    Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Corporate Development Department of Northumbria Police.  I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.

  3. Please could you provide the total number of crimes related to the taking, making or distribution of an indecent (or pseudo sexual) image of a child (home office code 86/2) where suspect was under 18, that have been recorded as Outcome 21, between 1st January 2019 and 31st December 2019.
  4. If you hold the information, please could you also provide the total number of crimes related to the taking, making or distribution of an indecent (or pseudo sexual) image of a child (home office code 86/2) where suspect was under the age of 14, that have been recorded as Outcome 21 between 1st January 2019 and 31st December 2019.
