The below caveats should be noted when viewing the above response.

• The data has been taken from Systems and then reviewed where necessary to find those pertinent to the request.

• It should be noted that incidents are different from crimes, therefore two tables have been included for the response for Q. (a) above, as such, there will be incidents that are also in the crime table and vice versa. In addition to this, there will be crimes that are not in the incident table and incidents that are not in the crime table.

• The tables are labelled regarding whether they relate to crimes or incidents.

• All Co-op premises within the Northumbria Police area have been included except those that mentioned 'funeral'.

• All CO-OP stores within the Northumbria Police area have been included, following an address search of the terms suggested in the request. The premises were then filtered to remove those that were not Co-op stores, this is a manual check and therefore subject to human error.

• As with any keyword search, the search will only return exact matches within the premise address. This does not account for differences in terminology and/or spelling used. Also, we cannot search the crime investigation screens/additional information screens, if the terms are not used within the address field the crime will not be identified.

• We do not have a flag that identifies when the police have made an attendance to a crime, however we do have that for incidents.

• Every effort is made to ensure that the figures presented are accurate and complete. However, it is important to note that these data have been extracted from a number of data sources used by forces for police purposes. The detail collected to respond specifically to your request is subject to the inaccuracies inherent in any large scale recording system. As a consequence, care should be taken to ensure data collection processes and their inevitable limitations are taken into account when interpreting those data.

• The figures provided therefore are our best interpretation of relevance of data to your request, but you should be aware that the collation of figures for ad hoc requests may have limitations and this should be taken into account when those data are used.
