As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

I would like to know please for each of the years 2019 (to date); 2018; and 2017:
The number of each of the following offences recorded, and the outcomes for those offences.
1.Violence against the person involving a knife (broken down by offence type if possible)
2.Robbery involving a knife
3.Possession of a bladed article
4.Possession of an offensive weapon where that was a knife or bladed article
In Response:
The data has been taken from the central database using the crime table. The data was refined by using those crimes where the weapon that was used was a knife or bladed article as defined by the Annual data requirement (ADR) 160.
The offences used for question 3 were:
008/26 Having an article with a blade or point in a public place
008/27 Having an article with a blade or point on school premises
008/28 Possession of offensive weapon on school premises
008/62 Threaten with a blade or sharply pointed article on school premises
008/63 Threaten with an offensive weapon on school premises
008/64 Threaten with a blade or sharply pointed article in a public place
The offences used in question 4 were:
008/61 Threaten with an offensive weapon in a public place
008/11 Possession of offensive weapon without lawful authority or reasonable excuse
