Date Responded 03 February 2020

Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

1. Please state the number of cases of violence against a person involving a "sharp or bladed instrument" that contain the following keyword.

Please identify these by conducting a free text search of your crime database, and provide information for each of the last five financial years, and the current financial year to 22.01.20.

2. Please provide a breakdown of the specific type of offences recorded that included these keywords, for each individual keyword

3. Please provide an anonymised copy of free text report for each incident recorded.

In Response:

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Corporate Development Department of Northumbria Police.  I can confirm that the information you have requested is not held by Northumbria Police.

Searches of relevant systems have gleaned that there have been no recorded instances of knife crime which also include the terms "tinder", "snapchat" or "instagram" within the requested time period.  To identify "knife crime" the same definition as the Home Office ADR160 report has been used, which details knife crime across the force.  It also includes other similar instruments such as screwdrivers.
