Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

Please can you provide the number of reported thefts of motorcycles and scooters in the Northumbria police force area for the period 1st January – 31st December 2019.

In Response:

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted within Northumbria Police.  I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.

From searches made of recording systems and relevant Home Office codes I am able to disclose the located information to you as follows.

We have a total of 345 reported thefts in the given time period.

This count covers the following property/vehicle types:

    Motor cycle

    Quad

    Quad bike

    Moped

    Mini moto

    Scooter

There may be other instances of motorbikes having been stolen and listed under the "Other" category.  These would be outside our search parameters and therefore not counted.
