Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

- Date range: Between 1995 and 2015 (twenty years date range)

- Population: Elderly couples (over the age of 60) that died at the same time or within a short time of each other

- Type of case: Double murders or murder/suicides (please do not include accidents, double suicides, natural, or unascertained deaths)

- Location of death: Private residence (please do not include public places)

Information requested to include: the cause of death, the injuries sustained (if not covered in the cause of death), if the case was closed as a double murder or murder/suicide and if the offender (for double murders) was caught.
