Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

I am writing to submit a Freedom of Information Request to Northumbria Police. Please would you be able to provide me with the following information for the last year (2018) and the subsequent years (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017). If you have any figures for this year (2019) please could I also have those figures.

  1. The number of children who have been caught carrying offensive weapons in Sunderland.
  2. The types of weapons they were found to be carrying.
  3. The locations where children were found to have an offensive weapon on them. e.g. school, shop, park, etc.
  4. The ages and genders of the children who were found with offensive weapon and whether they were charged.

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted within the Corporate Development Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.
