In Response:

We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention.

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Corporate Development Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held in part by Northumbria Police.

I am able to disclose the located information to you as follows.

We are not able to extract a history of an offender’s disposal status, for example if an offender was released under investigation then charged, the individual will now show as charged.

We do, however, have monthly snapshots recorded from Aug 2017. This will show the number of individuals who had a status of released under investigation at the end of each month.

We have therefore provided the information for point 1 August -17 onwards. We don't hold this broken down by offence type.

For point 3 we have provided the number of individuals with a disposal of ‘released under investigation’  as of 23rd October, this has been broken down by offence type and length of time.

Whilst we are unable to provide a full response to all your queries as posed in your submission we have, in an effort to aid and assist, and provide you with something that may be useful, provided you with as much as we are able to.

If you decide to write an article / use the enclosed data we would expect that you to take into consideration the factors highlighted above so as not to mislead members of the public or official bodies or misrepresent the relevance of the whole or any part of this disclosed material.

With the above noted please see the attached.
