Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

  1. How many reports, records and charges have been made relating to "revenge porn" (distributing a private sexual image of someone without their consent and with the intention of causing them distress) to your force in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 thus far
  2. The age (0-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60+)
  3. and gender of victims in each year

Data was collated through a search of crimes recorded under Home Office code 008/71 (Disclose private sexual photographs and films with intent to cause distress) between 01/01/2016 and 31/10/2019.
