Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

All questions relate to period covering January 2016 – December 2017 (or most uptodate data): 

1. How many times in total has your force used Outcome 21?

2. How many of those Outcome 21s relate to Youth Produced Sexual Imagery (sexting by under 18s)?

a. How many of those Outcome 21s (relating to Youth Produced Sexual Imagery) involved 11-17 year olds?

b. How many of those Outcome 21s (relating to Youth Produced Sexual Imagery) involved children aged 10 and under?

3. How many overall reports of crimes relating to Youth Produced Sexual Imagery (sexting by under 18s) have been made to your force?

4. Of those overall reports

a) how many were by pupils aged 11-17?

b) how many were by pupils aged 10 and under?

We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention. 

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Corporate Development Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.

  2. a) 20 – to note these 20 records were where either the occupation is stated as school child or there is mention of the school within the crime details.  This does not mean that the other 15 were not pupils.
