Date Responded 13 September 2021

Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

1. As of 1 August 2021, how many of officers employed by your force had completed the following training:

1. a) The Specialist Sexual Assault Investigation Development Programme (SSAIDP)

1. b) The Sexual Offences Liaison Officers (SOLO) course

I am seeking completion rates from when the courses originally began (I think they were introduced around 2016).  I would like to get the best idea possible of how many trained officers you currently have working for you, so if someone had the training in 2018 and left your force in 2019, I would not count them. But they could have taken the course a few years ago and still be one of your officers.

2. As of 1 August 2021, how many investigations into the following types of crime were open:

2. a) Total adult rape offences (those with Home Office codes: 19C; 19F; 19J; 19K)

2. b) Total adult sexual offences (those with Home Office codes: 19C; 19F; 19J; 19K; 20A; 17A; 23; 22A; 88E; 70; 88C)

2. c) All sexual offences (against both adults and children)
