Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')
As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.
You asked:
- In each of the last five full financial years please, how many sexual offences have been reported to your force where both the alleged perpetrator and the alleged victim were under the age of 18?
- Please provide information on how many of these reports resulted in further police action.
- Could you provide a breakdown for how many offences were reported where the alleged perpetrator was 11 or younger? Can you also provide information on:
- How many of the total reported sexual offences, identified in point 1 above, occurred on school premises?
- For the reports of sexual offences occurring on school premises, could you please provide a breakdown of the types of alleged offences recorded (e.g. sexual assault, rape etc).
