Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

Could I please have the locations and date of all stop and search (under section 1 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE 1984)) carried out by Northumbria police, from 2014 to present.

In Response:

I am able to disclose the located information to you within the attached document however the following caveat should be noted:

 

  • The data has been taken from the central database using the stop and search tables where the reason for the search was Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984, section 1 or Section 1,3 PACE.  The data was then checked for duplicates and system searches were carried out to find those locations that were evident from the data.  Where the sector was still not evident the District was used.
