Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

1. How many theft from shop offences have been reported to you where the offence has allegedly been committed at a supermarket in the following years: 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 (year to date)?

2. Where possible, please state for each year how many were either: theft from a person; theft from a company / business; not recorded 

For clarity, the term "supermarket" is meant to refer to the following: supermarket, superstore, rural supermarket and shop supermarket.

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Corporate Development Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.
