Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

  1. How many underage victims of revenge porn were reported to your force in the last year?
  2. How many underage people were suspects of revenge porn offences in the last year?
  3. What was the average age of both groups?
  4. Also- what were the charges to the suspect and the statute used to charge the suspect.
  5. Is this crime classified as a child abuse as well as revenge porn?

Clarification:

underage: is under 18

Revenge porn: "Disclose private sexual photographs with intent to cause distress "

Last year: between 1/1/2019 and 31/12/2019

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Corporate Development Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held in part by Northumbria Police.

I am able to disclose the located information to you as follows.

It should be noted that there are offences where the offender is unknown.
