Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')
As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.
- How many reports of crime were received between 01-01-18 and 01-01-19 where U18s were the victim?
- How many of these reports were committed at the workplace?
We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention.
Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Corporate Development Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held, in part, by Northumbria Police.
I am able to disclose the located information to you as follows.
2 However, it should be noted that we are unable to query crimes by whether they have happened at the workplace. As such, Q2 has been defined as follows:
- Victim is aged 16 or 17
- Location that the crime was committed falls under one of the following categories:
Fish & Chip Shop
Frozen Food Shop
Each of these crimes has been manually reviewed to establish if it did occur at the victim's place of work. Only cases wherein this has been explicitly stated have been included in the above count.
As such, please note that this number may not be accurate and instead is a best estimate; this has been based on balance of probability as this is not typically information that the force would hold (whether someone became a victim of crime at their place of work.)
If you decide to write an article / use the enclosed data we would expect that you to take into consideration the factors highlighted above so as not to mislead members of the public or official bodies or misrepresent the relevance of the whole or any part of this disclosed material.
