Coronavirus Regulation Fines - 595/20

Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

  1. The number of individuals issued with a fixed penalty notice by your force under Regulation 9 of The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) Regulations 2020.
  2. The total amount collected in penalties from individuals issued with a fixed penalty notice by your force under Regulation 9 of The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) Regulations 2020, and the highest individual penalty awarded.

I would like all the information since the regulations were introduced.

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted within Northumbria Police.  I can confirm that the information you have requested is held, in part, by Northumbria Police.

  1. 16.
  2. No information held with regards to the monies from the issue of the above mentioned fines.  This information may be available via the Local Authority in which the offence(s) took place and we would suggest that you direct your query to them.
