Date Responded 31 January 2020

Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

I would like to know how much the force has paid out to employees under employer's liability from January 2018 to date.

I would like the information broken down on a monthly basis with a brief summary of each incident, and the amount paid out by the force.

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Legal Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.

I am able to disclose the located information to you as follows, which has been presented in a way which avoids exemptions, in this case Section 40,  being applied to withhold as the likelihood of an individual being identified is high should the information be presented as requested.
