Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

  1. The cost incurred by the force of policing Newcastle United men’s games (excluding fees paid by the club for special policing services) from the 21st of June 2020 to the 26th of July 2020. Please provide an overall figure.
  2. Please also provide the date of the match and the cost incurred by the police force per match.
  3. The cost incurred by the force of policing Newcastle United’s men’s games (excluding fees paid by the club for special policing services) from 1st of January 2020 to 29th of February 2020. Please provide an overall figure
  4. Please also provide the date of the match and the cost incurred by the police force per match.
  5. The fees owed to the police force that have not yet been paid by Newcastle United for special policing services. Please provide one figure for how much Newcastle United owes.

In Response:

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Finance Department of Northumbria Police.  I can confirm that the information you have requested is not held by Northumbria Police.

1-4. We do not hold the total cost of policing football matches.  Work by officers and staff will have been undertaken as part of their duties and these normal hour costs are not recorded for the purpose of Football matches.

5.  There are no outstanding SPS charges.
