Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

Please could you provide me with the following information under the Freedom of Information Act regarding General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)•           Total summary or estimate of expenditure to date to prepare your organisation for the incoming GDPR legislation

•           Detail on this expenditure e.g. staff training, software, department policies, hiring

•           Projected spend or budget for managing GDPR within your department for the rest of the calendar year

We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention.

 Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Information Management Unit of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is not held by Northumbria Police.

We haven’t incurred any additional costs as the preparation project has been managed in-house with existing staff and resources.  The Data Protection Officer (DPO) responsibility has been assigned to the current Information Management Unit Manager with no additional expenditure.  There is no projected spend regarding GDPR.
