Date Responded 07 December 2018

Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

  1. How much money did the force spend on providing gender neutral facilities for staff in the year 1/11/17 to 1/11/18
  2. How much money did the force spend on providing gender neutral facilities for staff in the year 1/11/16 to 1/11/17

Ideally, if the location of these facilities could be given that would be great.

In Response:

  1. In the year 1/11/17 to 1/11/18 the Force spent £12 on signage to state that two locker rooms at Middle Engine Lane and Forth Banks Police Stations that were already being shared by all genders were gender neutral facilities. However, the toilets and shower areas which are accessed from the locker rooms remain gender separated.
