Date Responded 17 July 2019

Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

Please provide a record of all gifts, donations and sponsorship given to your force by third parties for operational purposes, under section 93 of the Police Act 1996.

This might be, for example, a private company providing a car, equipment, or funding to the force for police use, in some cases in return for police presence at particular events or location.

For each donation, please provide:

  1. The name of each donor, the value of the donation
  2. What the donation to the force was (if it was a donation of money or of goods such as a vehicle etc)
  3. Any record of what the donation was used for.
  4. All other fields relating to these donations as held in your recording system.

Please provide information for the period April 1st 2014 to April 1st 2019.

Please note, this is not a request for information for small personal gifts or hospitality provided, as would be disclosed in your register of senior staff interests, but for donations to the police service as a whole, for operational use.

In Response:

Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Finance Department of Northumbria Police.  I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.

I am able to disclose the located information to you as attached .
