Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')
As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

For the years 2018; 2017 & 2016 by year
- The number of individual police officers within your force to have reported mental health issues (including a breakdown of depression, anxiety, PTSD, stress…etc.)
- The number of individual police officers within your force to have had one or more days sick leave as a result of mental health issues (including a breakdown of depression, anxiety, PTSD, stress…etc.)
- The total number of days police officers have been absent because of sick days due to mental health issues (including a breakdown of depression, anxiety, PTSD, stress…etc.)
In Response:
1. Information not held. We do not hold the number of officers to have reported mental health issues. The Occupational Health Unit deals with Management referrals received for all employees but these are not categorised/identified as officers or staff. Additionally this information is recorded only as psychological or physical, and is not broken down further.
