Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')
As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

1. Please advise me of your spend on temporary staff via a recruitment/temp agency in 2017.
2. Please advise me whether or not the force has used recruitment agencies for their permanent recruitment, and if so, the cost of this across 2017.

We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention.
Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted within Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.
I am able to disclose the located information to you as follows.
1. No information held. Human Resources Department do not recruit temporary staff via an agency.
2. The ICT Section are the only department who have recruited staff via agencies. The figure is in financial year only. In 2017/18 the cost to the force for using recruitment agencies for their permanent recruitment was £14,372 and for Fixed Term Contract staff was £26,741.
