Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')

As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

You asked:

  1. Do you use Artificial Intelligence in criminal investigations currently?
  2. If so, what is its main use?
  3. What is the most common crime or investigation type where Artificial Intelligence has been used?
  4. If you do not use Artificial Intelligence currently, is there a reason why not?

In Response:

I can confirm that the information you have requested is not held by Northumbria Police as we do not use Artificial Intelligence in criminal investigations currently and we do not hold information as to the reason why we do not use Artificial Intelligence in criminal investigations.
